UV Printer Primer User Manual

UV Printer Primer is a single-component coating, ready to use directly without any mixing. It provides excellent adhesion to UV inks, offering low odor and minimal corrosion. The primer is especially suitable for relatively soft and thin substrates, as it prevents cracking. Any excess primer on the surface can be easily wiped off without affecting the transparency or finish.

UV Printer Primer Application Guidelines
Before applying the primer, ensure the substrate is clean and dry. We recommend wiping the surface with alcohol to remove any dust, oil, sweat, or other contaminants, as these can affect the adhesion of the UV primer ink. The ideal application temperature is between 15°C and 30°C (59°F to 86°F), with humidity below 80% RH. Low temperatures can slow down the drying process, while high humidity may cause cloudiness or fogging in the coating.

UV Printer Primer Application Method

  • Shake the primer well before use.
  • Apply the primer using a clean cloth or a brush to ensure a thin, even layer on the substrate. Always apply in one direction to avoid streaking.
  • Avoid using excessive amounts or applying the primer too thickly. Repeated brushing or applying the primer in the same area multiple times can lead to an uneven finish.
  • After application, allow the primer to sit for 5 minutes before proceeding with printing. For best results, wait for 24 hours before performing adhesion tests (e.g., cross-hatch test or water immersion test).

UV Printer Primer Tips for Large and Small Substrates

  • For larger substrates, it is recommended to apply the primer in one seamless coat using both a clean cloth and a brush to cover the entire surface.
  • For smaller substrates, use a clean cloth to quickly apply the primer in one direction and avoid over-applying. You may need to repeat the application process if necessary, but always in a single direction.

UV Printer Primer Important Notes

  • Ensure the work environment is clean and dry to prevent contamination of the printer primer ink or the printed surface.
  • Make sure the primer is completely dry before printing. For optimal adhesion, perform adhesion tests (such as cross-hatch or water immersion tests) after 24 hours of curing.
  • Avoid direct exposure to sunlight or high temperatures during the curing process to prevent any premature curing of the primer.
